Nautical Decor Table Styling Ideas for a Coastal Home
Share
There’s something about the coast that just feels like home to me. Soft blues, woven textures, easy afternoons with good company. I love bringing that feeling to the table, because that’s where we talk, laugh and slow down. Nautical decor doesn’t need to be themed or too “beachy.” With the right pieces, it can feel gentle, relaxed and quietly elegant.
If you’re browsing for new pieces to refresh your table, you’re welcome to look through our collections here.
Start with Soft Blues and Stripes
When I’m styling a coastal table, I usually reach for stripes first. They instantly give that breezy seaside feel. Our Chambray Blue and White Striped Napkins are one of my go-to pieces. The chambray has a lovely washed look, so the table feels relaxed and lived in rather than formal.

If I want to add something with a little more personality, I pick the embroidered napkins like the Crab Stripe Chambray Napkins and the Lobster Stripe Chambray Napkins. They always get comments. The embroidery is fun and a little cheeky, but the stripes keep everything looking polished. They're great for seafood lunches, weekend gatherings or any time I want the table to feel a bit special without much effort.

Bring in Warmth with Texture
Blue and white create the coastal mood, but texture brings the warmth. I love adding natural fibre pieces because they soften the look and make the table feel more welcoming. The Placemat Navy Dual (Set of 4) is a favourite of mine. The woven texture reminds me of summer baskets and picnic days, while the navy trim ties in with the napkins perfectly.

Textures like this help the table feel cosy and grounded. It stops the coastal palette from feeling too crisp or plain.
Add a Few Charming Touches
Little details make all the difference. Our Lobster Chambray Tea Towels (Set of 2) are so handy. I’ll use them under serving boards, folded near the drinks area or even as a simple runner down the centre of the table. They make everything look put together without being fussy.

The Lobster Ceramic Trivet is another piece I love. It’s practical, but also adds a cheerful pop of colour. I’ll rest a hot serving dish on it, or sometimes just place it in the middle with a candle or small vase. Guests always notice it and smile.

Nautical Decor: A Coastal Twist for Christmas
If you enjoy a seaside feel during the holidays too, our La Dolce Vita Christmas Collection blends coastal charm with Christmas warmth in a really natural way. You can take a look here.

It keeps the table feeling fresh and airy, even during the festive season. Think soft blues, fresh textures and just a touch of sparkle.
Making the Table Feel Like Home
Nautical decor, for me, is about ease. It’s not about matching everything or trying too hard. It’s about creating a setting where people feel relaxed, welcomed and happy to stay awhile. A few thoughtful pieces are all you really need.
Warmly,
